Software Developer to Combine Pornography and Video Games for the First Time
D-Dub Software creates the first ever Adult video game and makes an appearance at the AVN Novelty Expo in Los Angeles, CA.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM, July 22, 2008 – D-Dub Software, the first and only producer of a pornographic AAA video game title, made a huge splash at the AVN Novelty Expo last week. The company unveiled itself and its first product, BoneTown, at the yearly event to rave reviews. “This is the future of the adult industry,” said Ron Jeremy.
Video games have recently become the country’s top selling entertainment medium, and although the average video gamer is 33 years old, the video game industry is the only entertainment avenue without a legitimate adult component.
D-Dub Software, wondering why this was, decided to be the first to combine video games with pornography. “We’re a small developer, so to compete with the big guys we had to find a niche market,” says Hod, CEO of D-Dub Software. “I think we have.”
The founders of D-Dub, Hod and JB, founded the company in 2004 with as much balls as talent. They began developing soon after college in a garage in Albuquerque, NM. Soon, the company graduated to an office where everyone had a say in the creative process and being late to work meant bringing a twelve pack of beer. Three years later, they are about to release their first title, BoneTown.
D-Dub has recently attended the AVN Novelty Expo in Los Angeles, CA, where they showcased BoneTown and began to sell the game to retailers around the world for the first time. Response was phenomenal, as no one in the adult world had ever encountered anything quite like BoneTown.
“We never see anything new in the adult industry. We’ve been waiting for this for years,” said one Canadian retailer about D-Dub’s originality. Justin Bourne of AVN agreed. “This is the most innovative game ever. I believe it will be a landmark in bringing the adult world and video games together,” he said.
Not knowing how the video game world might react to them, D-Dub has so far been concentrating their efforts in the adult industry. “The video game industry has little to offer us right now. If they rate us, they’re basically banning us from their distribution and advertising channels,” says Hod. “They seem to think that video games are only for kids, and that’s just not the case anymore.”
About D-Dub Software: D-Dub Software will release BoneTown in late August 2008. The game will be sold online at www.bonetown.com and in adult stores around the world.
